Callan Bentley is an Assistant Professor of Geology at Northern Virginia Community College. He is a D.C. native, born in the city and raised inside the Beltway. Callan studied geology at the College of William & Mary (B.S.) and at the University of Maryland (M.S.), and science education at Montana State University (M.S.S.E.). He is interested in structural geology, paleontology, climate science, Rocky Mountain geologic history, Sierra Nevada geologic history, and most particularly the geologic history of the Appalachian mountain belt.
